Will two 4870X2's both equipped with an Accelero Xtreme still fit and be able to work together in crossfire, or will the size of the heatsink added to the already large card cause fitment issues?
-These will be placed in a Cooler Master Storm Scout, by the way.

They'd be going into a Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P.

3dGuru said they broke their first card with the Accelero..? Something about applying too much pressure to the card to screw in the spring screws?
How is that even possible..I've put a lot of aftermarket coolers on to vga cards, and I've never had to apply THAT much pressure on anything.

I had some problems mounting another card together with my 4870x2.
__________________My P5Q Pro mobo has 2 PCIex1 slots between PCIex16, but the space is taken by the accelero. I started with 4650 but it's backside spring-screws holding the cooler appeared to be too long (~7-8mm above the printboard) and were situated in such places that by bad luck were pushing the fan case of the accelero cooler. Cards were V-way mounted to the board, no chance to screw them to the case without curving the 4650's radiator by pushing one of the screws in. I used money-back. My second attempt was more successful, 4350 has plastic radiator holders, they are ~3mm above the printboard on the backside, and fits pretty good. As for XFX 4870X2 with accelero on both - they will fit okay if you have 2-slot space between PCIex16 like me. Backside of 4870x2 is covered with metal, and X-bracket screws have hidden in the board heads. It could be so they will be touching each other but this still wont spoil the air intake because fan case is 5mm away from the fans and the fans have plenty of room inside.

On your particular board, yes, it should. I had that board, 2 of them, but isn't that a SLI board? How are you going to run those in Crossfire?
nvrmd- now I see the board.
