Default EK Full Coverage block and XFX 4890.

Ok guys I'm pretty pissed off about this, but I think the XFX card I got wont work with the EK block I got. Here's a pic of the board:

From looking at the installation instructions for the EK waterblock, it looks like this block wont fit my card. It wants me to put pads on the vregs but the block doesnt reach the vregs at all. Did I get a non-reference board here, am I out of luck?

That's 100% non reference. It's not too much different though.

Well, too be honest, I personally knew that the black pcb's were non reference. I have the ati reference one so that's not why I knew that, just a random piece of info I picked up.

Right so I just finished packing up the box and submitting a return request to newegg. Which brand should I be getting so I dont get disappointed again? Are there any brands that are known to be reference designs?

These should be reference, but be warned, I've seen Newegg send out cards different from the pictures when the manufacture starts sending them new cards with different heatsinks and/or a different pcb design.

Im trying to find a Sapphire HD 4890 Atomic 1GHz but I dont think many places carry it. Only one listing on Google shopping but its not listed as being 1GHz. Thanks for the links derp, looking them all over right now.

EDIT: Purchased the diamond XOC. Should get here Friday. Fingers crossed its reference.

As long as the PCB is red it is a reference card, all other colors are nonreference.

I'm not a fan of TigerDirect so I'm just using their pix/page as a reference (no pun intended), but this link shows the Diamond Radeon HD 4890 XOC Video Card and judging by the picture that is definitely a reference card.

Well I got the Diamond card today and the board is also nonreference and thus wont fit the waterblock. I'm not going to spend the next couple weeks trying to find the right card, im just going to send the card and waterblock back and stay with nvidia like I normally do. I'm really disappointed in this whole thing, its really tainted my view of ATI cards in general.
