I'm getting ready to put the VRM-R2
on my 4890 and I'm wonder if anyone else that has done so already used the heat strips that were included or if you used TIM? Which worked better for you?

OK, no response. I went ahead an used the strips and I gotta say that my VRM temps are now lower than my gpu idle temps by a good 12C and load temps never got more than 2C above Memio or Shader temperatures (80F w/ Furmark after 5min). I'll do more extensive testing later on tomorrow afternoon.

Nice! My VRM temps are currently over twice my GPU load temps.
Where did you get yours? The only place I've seen it is at Frozen CPU but that would literally cost me $75 to ship to Canada.

Got mine through SVC.com, but be advised that if you go with the R2, it may come into contact with your fan on you cpu heatsink
. That is if you have the same setup & configuration that I do. This is all on my sig rig, I had to change over from a push configuration on my Megahalems to a pull configuration just to clear it. Needless to say, I went through a lot of hassle just to make this all work, moved my graphics card, moved my hsf .
