Yesterday i installed a Accelero S1 rev2 on my Saphire HD4870.
I was waiting for a shipment of glue and a extra heatsink bar to cover the little rams on the end. Glue is Zalman adhesive glue ![]() http://www.misco.nl/productinformati...~WW~/index.htm Also i had to put on this Zalman Zalman ZM-RHS70 VGA FET Heatsink for ATI HD4870. first of all it just didnt fit ?? Which is weird as it clearly states for HD4870 It didnt fit in width , not in length, and even when it would have it wouldnt fit height either as the Accelero is very low and big so it didnt match. Instead i had 3 little heatsinks that i could glue on, but now the heatsinks dont really cover all the little rams, just the edges everywhere, i figured that would have to do. But i dont know if this influences my temps a lot, and if i should redo it with something else ? Temps on idle were about 50 so definitely lower, and when i fold its not too bad either about 72, but playing Crysis is still 80C, and when i tried to overclock the card, it still went up to 95+ ? thx if you have any ideas, if i really need to totally cover the little rams that go along the card, so not the 8 regular rams, that i covered completely. o and if i do decide to take it off, does it come off at all, it seems rockhard glue ? thx by

i am thinking of redoing the whole thing, and making a custom fit, perhaps use a layer of aluminum foil to cover them all, and then glue on the heatsink on top of that ?
i read acetone(nailremover) works ok to get them off? then i will lower a bit of the hight of the heatsink to make it fit under the accelero

That Zalman Heatsink dimensions are designed for reference 4870 cards, using Zalman GPU coolers. I think the Vapor-X model has different VRMs (non-reference design), hence the reason it doesn't fit right.

So is there also a special heatsink designed to fit on the vapore x , or is my only option something homemade ?
