So i have an XFX 4870 1GB and it looks like i am in need of a cooler...
When i furmark at 800/1000 and at a voltage of 1.180...my memory is hitting 63c and i believe it was still rising....the shader looked like it was going to get hotter but the core temperature wasn't so bad... I can pick up a Scythe musashi for 25$ shipped to put on it...can anyone honestly say it dropped there memory/shader temps considerably? can someone give me there memory temp results? I will be sticking with the stock fans on the musashi atm as i just can't budget mores fan in with the other 5 i have to order+cooler and other crap... I am going to search the forum for temp results but so far i am only seeing there core temps at load which isn't to bad I am thinking that this would give me my best bang for my dollar...since the only other decent cooler i see is the accelero s1 rev 2 and after i bought it and added a fan i would be spending more than the scythe...i can always switch the fans on the scythe and boost its performance...

Ok....
Musashi is a great cooler, especially for the money. It's not perfect tho. The included memsinks will drop mem temps by a bit, but they could be better. Core/shader temps did get considerably cooler tho. Another little quirk about the musashi is that the mounting screws are a lil too narrow, so the cooler slides and turns a bit. Easily fixed w/ a little bit of tape wrapped around the mounting screws. Also, the rubber nub on the backplate should be pulled off and then re-positioned so it doesn't crush the resistors on the back of the GPU. Both are very minor, easy mods to do when you know it's coming. Keep in mind how important it is to keep your VRMs cool. I have a Zalman RHS-90 that I chopped some height off of so it would fit under the musashi, and to say it works wonders, would be an understatement. I swapped the 100mm low-profile fans to 2x Green LED 120MM case fans using zipties, but that's an unnecessary mod. Even w/ the stock 100's the card was running substantially cooler. If you have a 100% or 90% true reference design(full reference cooler, cooler plate, fan, black or red PCB w/ digital(tweakable) VRMs, etc.) then you might want to experiment w/ leaving the stock mem/VRM plate in place.
