There is a non-sticky thermal tape(i think) on the red plate. should i coat that in TIM or leave it how it is?

I'm probably gonna get the Musashi because it seems to have the best compatibility. Open up your card and check if the heatsink is or isn't attached to the plate

This is what I do. Accelero s2 and get a 1200rpm fan for it. Next get this( http://www.cooltechpc.com/c/ctpc/std/sku=ZM-RHS70.html ) or this ( http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/pro...olers/zm-rhs90 ). The accelero s2 is sufficient for any need. Cooled my oced 4830 that ran at 845 core with 1.45 volts under 75c. Also cooled my oced 4890(no volt mod) below 60. The VRM cooling all depends on how far your going to volt mod. Gonna do a heavy volt mod(1.4 above)? Get the bigger one. Below that you should be fine with the smaller one. I'm getting the smaller one for my 5870 as the big one won't work out. Need more cooling on it? Strap a second fan!

All in all I highly recommend the S2 out of all aftermarket air cooled heatsinks for the fact: Very good for slow fans since the spacing will help and keep the pc DEAD SILENT( I'm a quite fanatic)(side effect is anything faster then that won't help much since the spacing is so large but NEVER had a single temp issue with my crazy OC'S), Very easy to mount, cooled my memory very well despite how hot it got and lastly doesn't weigh down your card and costs like 25 shipped if you can get a good deal.

Hope this helps!

This is my temps with the mushashi. I just put the red plate back on and most temps seem to have gone down. But the memory IO is still very hot. What do u think i should/could do about it?
