I'd recommend the T-Rad2. The DuOrb struggles with anything over a 4850. The TRad2 keeps my 4870 under 65 benching at full load, and that is all the temps, memory included. I really like it.

The 4870 doesn't have the vrm heat problems like the 4890. All of the 4870 coolers have to be used in conjunction with other products or the red plate. I'm pretty sure the trad2 wont fit with the red plate there

My 4890 idles at 39 disp/44 mem/41 shader. I have it OC'd to 900/1000 and under f@H it gets up to 52/53/54. OCCT takes it to 55/60/59. I have the stock cyclone cooling that came on it and am using a custom profile for fan speed via Afterburner. I did take the cooler off and lap it some and used MX2 TIM on the core.

Is it possible to buy that cooler, though?

There is a non-sticky thermal tape(i think) on the red plate. should i coat that in TIM or leave it how it is?

I got my musashi and it works like a charm. It's so much more quiet and keeps my temps down. never breaks 55c

Where did you end up getting it from? I wonder what a good price is?
Does anyone know if the red plate will work in conjunction with the Trad2? Looking at picking up a pair of these for my crossfire setup. Sick of everyone complaining about the noise I make : |

Thanks, im leaning towards that or a vf1000 right now. I just dont like the scythe because it doesnt have that 'show offy' look to it, and its kinda ugly lol. But I definitely want a unit that will allow me to keep the stock red plate on at the same time.
