Please find below how my setup looks like :
![]() ![]() ![]() I know it is not the best CFX setup out there but please believe me when I decided to buy this system CFX was not on my mind. I got a deal I could not refuse on both XXX cards and I bought them. As one can see from the screenshots, the space between cards is non-existent. One of my fans is making the eternal "plastick hitting something" noise. I am sure that this is a sign of fatigue and soon it will fail. In my view, I have two options (without changing my motherboard, of course) : 1. Send the card back to XFX, pray to get an identical one, and wait till the one I have will break. XFX decided to make 1 revision for the XXX version so, all of them will suffer from the same bug. 2. Buy aftermarket cooling. The problem here is that I need something efficient ... that will allow me to have a CFX setup. Musashis are out of the question because they are too tall. One of the cards won't allow the second to enter the PCI-E slot. Will the Accelero Twin Turbo fit? Is there something else out there with an acceptable width that will allow me to have good cooling and a CFX setup? Cheers lads.

do a case mod and somehow try to install a double fan setup under them if theres room, or cut a hole under them and blow down on them to blow air over them and allow air thats hot to escape....or see if theres a longer crossfire cabl;e out there and try spacing them one slot apart

Your CFX is very similar to mine, there are little to no space between 2 cards. Majority of the aftermarket coolers require a extra 2 PCI-e slots, requiring the card to use a total of 3 PCI-e slots. I think the only solution I found so far for that is liquid cooling. If someone else know a good after market cooler for it, do tell, we are eager to find out =p

I would try to take apart the cooling units first to find the cause. Those look like reference coolers to me, but I have never seen the tail end's where the fans are, squared off like that. Another option is to look around and see if you can pick up some used reference coolers off someone on the board here to replace yours with.
