1) My simplified question is.... what the heck does it mean when I use
"flashrom -i" and when the information comes, under the column LOCK, it says "YES"?

2) I have a sapphire radeon 9800 pro atlantis, the chipset is a R360 (I physically checked), and when I do the flashrom-i it says it finds the following.. a R300/R350. Does this matter or not? I know there are some R350 9800 pro cores, the R360 is what most overclock to an 9800 XT.

3)I tried to force a flash and still no result, the R300/R350 remains in the bios. I think that nothing is changed at all.

4)if it (bios) is somehow locked, how can I unlock it? And which bios could be locked? (the MoBo bios or the Video)?
