OK, I got XFree86 installed, but is there a way to tell if it is working? Also, I would asume that after decompressing the .tar that the drivers came in, I should copy them to the directories that the files are in?

Yes you need to put them in the directories you created for XFree86, there should be a guide somewhere on that site about that.

Alright, I tried to just copy and paste them into the correct folders, but It says I can't do that because I don't have proper permissions. Is there a way to get the permissions without having to move them in the Root Terminal?

By the way, I am running Ubuntu.

just 'su' to root, then open nautilus like this: 'nautilus &'. the & keeps your terminal from being tied up. run that twice, then do the copy-pasting.

umm...not sure this is accurate, but i usually get 5fps in tuxracer with whatever drivers come defualt. if you can play tuxracer with >60fps, then they work.
