EDIT: And an artifact is a glitch caused by the overheating of the core of your GFX card. You might see such things as 'sparkling' white dots or triangle shaped fragments in the 3D graphics in a game.

Btw, if your card has a temp sensor, you can activate it at settings, temp monitoring. Keep an eye on you temps, no more than 70°C is good, it will start to cause artifacts on stable overclocks.

Ok, I activated the temperature monitor, but it doesn't say whether it is C or F. I would guess Celsius, but please clarify..... Also, I assume the GPU temperature is much more important than the chip itself, since it is listed as the icon when ati tool is minimized, am I right?O yes, I was thinking about this last night...... Would it be a good idea to modify the AGP voltage in the bios? I'm pretty sure my motherboard allows a .2 volt increase. Also, how does CPU and MEM tie in to overclocking you Video Card? Are they overclocked when the GPU speed increases? Another Thing: Considering I have 6 case fans (controlled by my nifty fan controller :santasmil ) do I need to buy a new cooler such as an Artic VGA Cooler? Thanks! ![]()

-Yes, temp is displayed as celsius. The temp is displayed on the atitool icon as an option, go to settings, temp monitoring, tray icon, and you can change the icon from gpu temp, environment, default icon....
-IMO, don't increase agp voltage, unless it starts to reboot to easily while overclocking. -The mem & cpu are not linked to the gpu, the only thing linked is the agp port, the more you overclock your cpu, agp will have a higher bus speed, which can cause errors and data corruption. Bios must have an option to lock it to it's default speed, 66Mhz. -About a new cooler, just keep an eye on your temps, if it goes above 65°C while gaming, I'd say add another fan and check that your rig is clean(no dust on heatsink). If temps don't drop, you should consider a new cooler.
