Excellent guide Grunion! One of my cores was at 300 before fixing it with this method! The other one was at 775MHz, so I set them both to 775MHz and verified the speeds in the thermal sensors tab as well as RivaTuner.

However, I'm having a problem.

My setup is a pair of these HD3870's on a Gigabyte X38 DQ6 (DDR2 version).

I used RivaTuner to manually set the fan speeds at 80%. One was at 76% before the bump, the other down at 25% before the bump. I heard an audible increase in fan speed when moving the one previously at 25% to 80% (though they're still both muffled by the Antec Nine Hundred fans on high haha). Using RivaTuner's monitor, it now says both cores are around 770MHz, but here's the problem: One card reports temperatures of about 45*C, the other reports temperatures of about 62*C. Any idea what is causing this?

I think the problem might have to do with only one card being used. The one at 45*C reports 0.00 in percent being used. The other one fluctuates between 0.00 and 0.72, or about 0-1% use. I find it hard to believe that only 1% use would cause such a large change in temperature though. In CCC, the Enable CrossFireX box is checked. Any help is appreciated.

Your score alone indicates that CF is working
I take it you're using the 8.5 cats?
Same thing happened to me, 2 cores don't budge in the RT graph.
Performance says otherwise.
The temperature difference is normal with CF/SLI set ups.

Hello, first time post on this forums!

I have a EAH3870x2 and I have manged to set my speeds higher and gain control of the fan. But it seems after every restart the OCed speeds reset to default. Is this normal? Do I have to reset it after every time I reload my computer?

Thanks!

Alright man here's my issue, I can get this thing clocked no prob, my issue is when I system reset so do my clocks. I read a post above and they mentiond somthing about a program called smart doctor ? Is there a way that I can set them up to auto clock when windows starts like the fan setting on rivia tuner ? Thanks for the info !
