Default Crysis and bad drivers
sigh. once again the 3870 8.493.0.0 drviers wont work with crysis but other games it will, why? The moment i load crysis it is massively distorted, cant see any picture at all. The crytek logo is distorted all around the screen.
Why does this happen and how cna i fix it?

yeh mate 1.2 right?. This always happens with the new VGA drivers. If i only install the ones from the CD all games work fine, but i feel that without the latest drivers i could loose performance in game so i try to update whenever i can.

Actually 1.2.1 is the newest.
You run drivercleaner between driver installs?

I run Crysis on 2 systems, no issues with the 8.5 cats.

Na i never run D cleaner i just install the new version over the old one. If you recommend i use it ill do that right now and try with the newer version drivers. ill report back in about an hour. cheers

If you install newer over old, that's usually fine.
The problem is multiple installs of old over new then back again.

When I have driver issues I do this, uninstall current drivers and driver clean.
I'll then install the 8.2 cats then incrementally install .3-.5 without using DCP.
