Question General 3870 X2 OC Questions

still trying to figure out HOW to OC my GPU as Riva Tuner does nothing and ATI Overdrive sliders only go up to:
Core 877 MHz
Memory 954 MHz

Scores so far with...
215 FPS - Couter Strike Source - Highest - 1440x900
43 FPS - WiC - High - 1440x900
15,753 - 3d05 v130
11,208 - 3d06 v110

Looking at the above so far...
am i doing well / average / mince with the OC of card / gpu?
Any tips?

OC Questions
1. does the PCIE MHZ speed setting under BIOS govern how far you can OC your card using ATI Overdrive / Riva (when it works)

2. How can i get the GPU core and memory higher?

3. Is Dx10 only available under Vista?

4. 8.6 drivers?...verdict of those how have upgraded to them?

5. Omega drivers?...they better than 8.5 / 8.6...or just stick with the CC ones?

AtiGPUClockUtil works great in overclocking multiple GPUs, just create a batch file with the core/mem speeds and run it at startup (or manually).
DX10 is only available under Vista, but games like Crysis run MUCH better in DX9 mode.
8.6 - I didn't see any difference other than less video corruption in Crysis and I've tested with 8.4, 8.5 and now 8.6. Dad tried 8.6 and said he lost a few FPS, but who cares when you're getting over 100fps anyway.
I had thought about getting the omega drivers, but am a little weary, so can't give much advice there.

merci...
sum one at last with an answer...lol
8.6 - i noticed losing about between 2-8 FPS in the CS-S !
thats nothign when your hitting 200+ FPS...
but for the more hungry games like WiC, losing that many frames is not good!

ATI overdrive tools is mince - limited OC, and the OC you do get doesn't actualy give that much of an improvment!

will give that ATIamd thing a try!
