All ATI cards run hot unless hey are HIS cause then they have a massive fan... What is your average load temp?

ATI's take a lot of heat and they run hot, it's what they do.

thats nothing. Alot of people, myself included, are at almost 80c idle and 90c load. I had to pull the blue wire out of the fan connector to make it spin at 100%, and its now sitting at 49c idle..with the fan loud as hell. I don't believe theres any software out yet to raise the fan speed

You've probably already found this and tried it out, but just in case, have you tried the manual fan speed adjustment? Details in this other thread.

Or you can get the Asus one! Came with software to modify fan speeds... hehe, anyways, hope you fixed your fan issues!

You'll need to use Catalyst and create a profile (ie. my4850).
Go into C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Local Settings\Application Data\ATI\ACE directory and edit my4850.xml file.
Change these lines to the values below for 65% fan speed:
<Property name="FanSpeedAlgorithm" value="Manual" />
<Property name="Want" value="65" />
Activate my4850 profile in CCC and you're done.
