Hi guys im pretty new to the whole overclocking world..
well i guess im here because im sick of my graphics card, but i dont want to buy a new one.

I currently use my computer for online gaming... Counter-Strike: Source.
My FPS is too low.. i know i can make my details lower in the game but i think i rather overclock my graphics card..

My Computer Stats are:
Sony VAIO VGC-RA820G
PERFORMANCE Intel Pentium 4 Processor 540 with Hyper-Threading Technology, Processor Speed 3.2Ghz 800MHz FSB. 1MB L2 Cache, 1GB PC-3200 400MHz DDR.
GRAPHICS PCI Express, ATI RADEON X300 128MB
INNOVATIVE DESIGN Advanced technologies for optimized internal cooling and caoustic properties. (guess this means my comp is water-cooled?, too scared to open case im a scared n00b)
( i just retyped what it said on the sticker, on my comp )

I was wondering if overclocking is the way to go, i mean my computer is water cooled.. so i might aswell overclock my card (which is the weakest product in my computer)

that doesnt mean watercooled, it probly just means quiet but effective fans

download ati tool from www.guru3d.com, click the find max core button, let it run for 10 minutes, you'll see a number like 350 for example, drag it down about 5.. then click find max mem, do the same

then click apply

so let it find both, drag them down 5 each, then click apply

No,its optimized cooling because there is a huge hole through the middle of it. not water though. I dont know if you will be able to overclock that though. Most likely not,most stock computers do not come with any options to overclock,unless you change up the drivers and such(ATI TOOL).Besides,thats a media center pc.

sorry bud, although you have a nice starting system, your computer is not water cooled if you got it from a retailer. However you can overclock your graphics card. I started with a very similar set up to yours, a sony vaio pcv720g, and as you can see by looking in my rig showcase, (the little computer icon under the "REP+" button) its no longer a vaio. What you can do is google "NGO Optimized Drivers" Those are drivers that will replace your stock ATi ones and allow you to overclock the card. The program is really straight forward so just download it and take a look.

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1748791,00.asp it IS. the reason your getting low fps is because of your video card, as its not the greatest card, but no worries, with ATItool you shoud be able to bump up about 10fps


now, its some kinda liquid cooling, not sure what kind, but it has is

ok so what do u guys suggest download that NGO optimized driver or use the ATI TOOL..

dude how is ur fps low, ur specs are fine for cs:source u should be able 800x600 or 1024x everything high
