Default AMD GPU Tool/CCC Work around hack for 4800 Series
I am not sure if this works yet, because I am at work and can not try it. But a guy over at the Xtremesystems posted this fix. I figured I would share and see if it works for anyone.

1. make a ccc profile
2. edit the profile with the usual fan hack
3. remove the default clockspeed settings

5. start AMD tool and set the clockspeed you want
6. CLOSE AMD TOOL AS IT DISABLES CCC!
7. then load up CCC profile with fanspeed and without stock speed
8. Joy!

I have my doubts since I believe I already tried this lastweek and could not get it to work.

Since I'm at work also I can't try it again but that script looks to be missing a handful of info.

Someone give it a shot and post!

Ok, I got home and tried this. No go. Just about what I figured would happen, but I gave it a shot anyway. Oh well, back to waiting for ATI Tool or Rivatuner again.

Works fine for me, just have to reactivate the fan profile after every clock speed increase.

Still have 2 hours till I'm at home giving it another shot. I went through a few days of flashing and re-flashing the BIOS on the board a dozen times and for some reason it just didn't like it. I setup the perfect fan settings through the BIOS but then nothing else would work to check temps/clocks/etc. I may have to reinstall CCC considering I think even my current profile on there is completely different from the stock. Even tried changing the max OC core MHz from 79000 to 90000 (you'll know what I'm talking about if you've tried to edit the profile before).

So it did work? Hmmm.. I wonder what I am doing wrong? Will check it out again to see if I can get it functioning right this time.

Whenever I ramp the speed >797 core it reverts back to 789.
So it's not working

Strange occurence though, auto fan control kicks in after 797 core
At 51°c the fan speed ramps up to 84%.
Didn't do that before, anyone else notice this?
