Default Driver update?

Ok, I just got 2 new 3850's. Do you need to download the drivers for the new type of card or will the 8.6 drivers I am using with my 1950's work with the 3850's as well.

I would avoid doing that even though it might work. A driver cleanup and reinstall will require just a few mins .

edit: the 8.6 will do fine on the 3850.

8.6 are the latest official drivers, 8.7 are still beta.
either will work fine, tho some are having trouble with the 8.7 beta

I was curious because before you download the drivers you have to select your card and os. So maybe they are all different drivers in some way or another for each card and os.

Well the catalyst control center maybe be the same for all cards, what really changes is the driver monitor support. Anyway the 8.6 catalyst is a suite which includes them both. I also think that if you simply unplug your 1950 and replace it with the 3850s they'll do work (my assumption). Although reinstalling them would be the proper thing to do.
