Default 4870 - ATI Overdrive will not save my GPU setting.

I am trying to get my GPU and memory to the highest settings that the ATI tool will allow. It works fine for the memory but it keeps defaulting back to 751mhz for the GPU clock.

It passes the test and as soon as I hit apply it goes back to 751.

Any thoughts on what I should try so it will save this setting?

ATI tool doesn't work with this card. It comes up with Core 0 and Memory 0.

I used AMD GPU Clock Tool and it will set it however I want but makes my fan mod not work. So my GPU Temp goes way way way up and I don't want that.

At first I had this same problem(Mine defaults to 500Mhz) and e-mailed Visiontek to solve it.
Their reply:
"When the card is idle it will clock down to 500 mhz. When you load a 3D
application that would utilize the card it will revert back to its
normal speed. The cards were designed to operate around 95C when in load
so your temperature is absolutely fine.

Thanks,
VisionTek Tech Support"

Didnt really help much though.

so what I did was reset the Catalyst runtime. Then use AMD Tool to set the clocks.
Then open Catalyst and set your profile, but you have to make sure that the profile doesnt set a clock speed.

Look at GPU-Z while you have a game running. Those clocks seem like 2D clocks. You can also use this to set clocks above what overdrive will allow (make sure to disable overdrive) http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...ol_v0.9.8.html

Well I did some testing and that is correct. I just ran that 3D cube from ati tool and it would go up.
