I've just swapped over from my gigabyte ga-m78gm-s2h to a MSI K9A2 platinum and everything reinstalled and went smoothly except CCC. I'm running the beta 8.7 drivers which work fine and games run fine but CCC won't start, it gives me a cli.implementation error. I've tried uninstalling and cleaning with driver cleaner then reinstalling and still same deal. Sucks cause CCC is the only tool that can control fan speed which is all I need for my 4850.

If it's a fresh install, you probably don't have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 which CCC needs

actually before I went to the MSI board xp was installed, 8.7 drivers were installed and CCC was happy so .NET was already setup. First boot with the new board required reinstall of drivers and the beginning of my troubles.

So wait.... you switched over to a new motherboard without reinstalling XP?

Yes, the motherboard was the only hardware that changed. Everything runs perfectly fine, games run just as good as before, I just don't have CCC operating

You might be able to get away with that if the MB's had the same chipset but you should always reinstall Windows when changing MB's as a general rule.

Also, since changing your mb you should do a fresh install of your os, otherwise you may have even more problems.

update to this, I bought a Ideazon keyboard and was running into a similar problem installing it's key mapping program so I tried repairing the .NET installation. Then uninstalled and reinstalled...now I'm up and running.
