Hey guys,
Since I'll be getting a 4850 in a couple of days, will there be any need for me to reinstall drivers? Just wondering if it will cause any immediate problems if I run off my current install of 8.7 drivers which were installed for my x1950pro. Not much hassle if I have to re-install, but definitely helps out if I can just plug 'n' play ![]() TY in advance ![]()

I think you just have to switch the cards. If you get problems then reinstall.

Always a good idea to uninstall the drivers (even if you're going to reinstall the exact same ones) when changing hardware. IMO it's well worth the 10-15 mins of hassle to do it now, than potentially encounter problems later.

when I switched from just a 4850 to 4870 I was still required to install drivers so I'd go ahead and do it

When I went from my 1950Pro to my 3870 all I did was reinstall the drivers. Haven't had a problem yet, well except for the fact that I had to download and install the sound drivers too since I didn't you the CD, lol.

I did the exact same upgrade. I was running an old version of Catalyst, so I upgraded anyways.
PS: You'll love the 4850. ESPECIALLY if you get another. ![]()
