OGL extensions only effect OGL apps just to let you know

As for the drivers, I'm yet to have a single issue with them (yet)

New Catalyst drivers are dissapointing, id rather stay with 8.5/8.6.

I think that the cat8.8 performs better (fps) with games, vantage etc..(Better CF support etc..)
But this driver has problems too(For me)
In random reboots (1 in 5 or 1 in 10)the ccc crashes with the message(''Catalyst control centre:host applicatin..has stopper working''
Description
Stopped working

something like that i don't remeber exactly.

I did uninstall device and driver--driver clean(driver sweeper-driver cleanser.net) and then install again new driver8.8 but nothing in this problem!
Also after installing cat8.8 i installed net framwork 3.5.is it good or bad?
Sometimes (random)i have artifacts in vantage
Everything else is ok!!!

Lol..

I haven't had a problem with 8.6/8.7 or 8.8.

Seriously 8.8 is fine .

AMD is ahead of the game . Nvidia needs to get back into it

I dont know why so many people complain about ATI drivers.

Comparing this to Nvidia ones ive had less problems.

Just ran 3DMark06, score went down 4k. And my FPS has gone wayyy down with the 8.8s. They work just fine, but are crap.

Sounds like there are several problems with the Catalyst drivers. Aren't there Omega drivers anymore? When I had the X1800XT, the cat drivers were awful and the Omega drivers were better and more stable, even though I still had a BSOD every 30 mins of gaming.

Catalyst drivers having issues? That's par for the course.

*EDIT*

Ok, looks like Omega drivers aren't being used right now because the dude that makes them isn't able to right now.

*ahem* The drivers are just fine. What I did was force 24x AA and 16X HQ AF in CCC and forgot to turn it off while running 3DMark06.

ATI drivers have been great for the last two years or so.....but this one seems to have some issues with 4850 CF and Vista x64. This is the first real problem I've had in a very long time........I guess it had to happen sooner or later

Has anyone seen any improvements over 8.7? I heard somewhere that crossfire was slated for improvement, has anyone noticed this? I've got 2 4870's in crossfire and am wondering whether to upgrade to 8.8. Also, does 8.8 solve the 4870 fan speed issue in CCC? Or do we still have to do it the hard way?
