Default I just hit 850 core 1070 mem with my 4870x2

i downloaded and flashed my HIS 4870x2 bios(s) to Asus Top master and slave bios. Before I could barely hit 800 and 930. Now I can hit 850 and 1070 using Riva Tuner!!!! if anyone wants these bioses let me know!

What voltage setting did you go for? Can you give it any more?

max you can set using RBE is 1.35 I believe. Anything more you need a hard mod.

What was your card set to when you opened it up? Have you given it all 1.35v, or you afraid of too much heat?

daym. My X2 says its at 1.05v stock. I would be afraid to pump it up to 1.35v.

I couldn't see 1.35 being an issue on the X2.

Its a 55nm process. I know they dont translate exactly, but according the 45nm cpus, the max for fragile intel chips is like 1.4vCore. Plus we all know that GPU's are beasts.

You'd probably be fine as long as you can keep temps on the card below 95ish full load.

The only problem I see with increasing your voltage is heat. When I bumped the voltage up .13 I saw a 6*C increase. Increasing the core .3, as you would on a 4870X2, I would guesstimate an increase of 12*C. Yet, there are two GPU cores, so the second core might have more of an increase because the air flowing over the heatsink is hotter.

Well if I have any possible want to do this I need to see some benchmarks. No need for stock ones since they should probably be similar to my own when I was at 3.84. Crysis, Vantage, 3DM06, COH, etc. Any game thats popular today that might pull the power of the GPU a bit. I still believe the card is more CPU limited still then GPU. 2 X2's are pretty much a waste on a C2D, C2Q. I have only seen the i7 actually take 2 and run with them like crazy.
