I am having the same issue with the hang up. I have uninstalled the windows drivers then I have tried both the W7 beta drivers and Vista64 drivers and they both decide to hate me.

Has anyone found a solution yet?

Believe it or not, I just did a fresh installation of W7 and installed the 8.12s just fine. I didn't uninstall the drivers windows installed first. I just ran it as administrator, without setting it to run in compatibility for Vista.

Just curiously why are you trying to us 8.12's with Windows 7 and not the Windows 7 ATI drivers?

I would also like to ADD that the 8.12's DO WORK WITH MORE THAN 4GB of ram. I've used both versions 8.12 with 8GB of RAM. It MIGHT NOT work for SOME people. That doesn't mean it won't work for everyone. No Gir I'm not referring to you.
