So this will be my third time to reformat because ATI's drivers won't install correctly. Is the answer always going to be "reformat" because they're **** fails miserably?

install hot fix
install cross fire bridge.
I can't even get the basic drivers to remove or install correctly for one card. How is the crossfire hotfix (that only fixed the BSOD) going to help me if I am not even that far in the first place? Did you read the steps that I went through?

Quite an unfortunate time it would seem. I guess you really only have 2 options; reformat and hope all is well after that, or go nvidia. Though the second option would be the last thing I'd do.

Could you partition your drive clean install on the new partition, then move files over? To make it easier on you?

I have heard from many people that the only way to change some ATI drivers is to format. They cannot be totally removed no matter what you try.

You mean move individual files over so they aren't lost? I could try that. Last time I was so aggravated that I nuked the entire partition to get rid of the stupid software.

You would think that since 7.1, AMD would get off the couch and fix that. It's insanity.
