Are you sure that high pitched sound is from your speakers? I had a high pitched sound actually coming from my video card when my 8800 GTS passed away

Hmm... Did you try different drivers? How about one card at a time?

Rolled back to 8.11, and now I don't even have a Crossfire toolbar.

Something else to note, now whenever I reboot, my desktop icons all go back to the same place no matter where I move them. Any ideas?

I'm waiting for the 9.1 release, it's supposed to have TONS of fixes, tweaks and enhancements. Supposedly, the rumor is it comes out sometime today.

I hope it does. It's really aggravating that they release drivers, then release more hotfixes because those drivers fail.

I had difficulty with 8.10 and .11 and the only tried and true way of getting rid of drivers is to reformat. Those lessons taught me different ways of saving my data though
