Rivatuner for HD4850
Hi all!
__________________I've been using ATI Tray Tool for a while now with my PALIT HD4850 1GB Sonic @ 740/1115. But I've been having recent trouble with ATI TT. Sometimes the menus become transparent (invisible) and other minor inconveniences. So I opted to just uninstall it and run ATI CCC @ 735/1050. I think I can run my VGA at a higher setting but ATI CCC is limiting me. I'm thinking of using Riva Tuner, but I heard it's better used for Nvidia VGAs. I was wondering if I can use Riva Tuner as an OC tool for my ATI 4850. And if so, can I set auto-overclocking settings like in ATI TT (downclocks automatically when @ 2D and overclocks automatically when @ 3D)? Specs: PALIT HD4850 1GB Sonic 256 bit default clocks: 685/1000 ATI CCC: 735/1050 Stable ATI TT settings: 740/1115 Using latest ATI 9.4 driver

RivaTuner is fine, I did some crazy stuff to my little 4670 with it

I'm using RivaTuner to OC my XpertVision(Palit) HD4850 Sonic 512. It works fine don't worry.As far as i know there are no automatic clock setting according to 2D/3D interface but you can trigger overclocked or stock clock speeds by a keyboard shorcut.

Oh and pay close attention to the green bars, go past them and they may be some death lol, I got past the limit with insane CFM's

It is easy.
First create your overclock profile. And then go to the Launcher Tab.Click green "Plus" icon at the bottom.A small window will appear choose "Regular item" option.You can set a shourcut to your overclock profile there.

There is a idle,2d and 3d settings for the cards. You would have to bios mod your card to change those values. If youd like, I can walk you through it.

__________________sure! if you have the time and patience i'd like to know the steps and softwares needed. btw, can i use usb to flash its bios? or do i have to burn a cd? coz I can't burn cds bec. my old dvd rom doesn't detect cds if you put them inside.
