Ok so right now i've got my HD 4830 stable at 770mhz core and 935mhz memory.
__________________![]() My max core was 740mhz, at 745mhz i got tons of errors on OCCT. With ati tools i bumped my gpu vcore from 1.04 to 1.20 and i now i got 770mhz completely stable but i get errors at 780mhz. So basically my question is, based on your experience or if you know any info, what is the max vcore i can set for my HD 4830?? And if i do trial and error with the vcore (keep setting it higher and testing) could i break my gpu? Also with my current overclock i get 92C max load, my stock clocks was at 85C max load.

I would get a new cooler before a overclocking with those temperatures. I'd think it's the temps causing the artifacts as well rather than voltage.

They're rated to withstand that much, but you're overclocking. And the temp is still waaaaaay too high, it shouldn't be going over 70oC, whatever it's rated for. Get an aftermarket cooler and pay more attention to your temperatures

well powercolor told me that my hd 4830 card is rated to hit 90C. Stock clocks. AMD emailed me and said that the HD 4830 can handle operating at 117C max.. 70C is just alittle too safe TD.
__________________Oh and if you care, i lowered my memory clock to 900mhz (stock) and i now i have hit 800mhz stable, ran OCCT gpu test for 25 minutes and it did hit 94C at some points but no errors. i shouldve never increased my memory in the first place man :/ Also heres a benchmark so far: Crysis Warhead at stock (575mhz core) 38fps avg (Gamer Spec, 1440x900 res, DX10) Crysis Warhead at OC (800mhz core) 46fps avg (Gamer Spec, 1440x900 res, DX10) GTA IV stock 34fps avg (all settings medium, 1440x900res) GTA IV OC 40fps avg (all settings medium, 1440x900res

AMD aren't expecting you to overclock. It'll work at high temperatures, but not stably which is what you need when overclocking.
Besides, if you go near 117oC then it'll trigger a card shutdown.
