Hi all,
Got my new His Radeod HD 4870x2 card today,and need bit of help.I loaded the new Ati catalyst drivers in it,9.5 vista 64.But when amd overdrive comes up ,the GPU clock is set at 507mhz ,the memory clock is at 500mhz.It wont change at all,also in gpu z its saying memory size 1024,it shoud be 2gig.And memory is saying 900mhz it should be 3600mhz,any help would be great.

you need to press the unlock button in CCC so you can change settings, also make sure you pressed view advanced settings when you first installed your new drivers, otherwise those options will not be available

do you have crossfire enabled i believe you have to for the twin gpu chips

To add to it. CCC will throttle the video card down to 500 when not need. 900 is good for the memory because that is the base clock. 3600/4 (the base clock is quad pumped because of GDDR5) = 900 Mhz.

Also, for the 1gb/2gb thing, Although the memory is 2GB, the GPUs cannot read from each other's memory, so the memory is cloned. Each GPU has access to 1GB.

Hi guys,
I have unlocked the ccc,But it only lets you got to 800mhz in the gpu clock.But even if i put it on 800 it still say down the bottom in current values 507 mhz in gpu.do i have to enable something?

Also it says in gpuz Enable 2 gpus side port off (unshore or vista 64)

yes..acutally play a game or stress test your GPU.

The cards will downclock when not in use (in 2d mode).

i should be able to ajust my core clock in overdrive,for benching.But dosn,t let me do that

Just went on 3dmark6

and it was a bad score of 13,000,were i was getting 18,000 with my 260 card.So in overdrive its saying 500mhz gpu clock so it must be what it says.Any help?

507 and 500 is 2D Speed. It downclocks to those speeds to run 2D desktop apps. It will always only say 1024 its because the 2 gpu's don't talk to each other , it really is 2 card on one PCB each with 1024MB. Don't worry you really are using 2 gigs. Just make Jure you have Catalyst AI turned on in CCC which enable crossfire. and CCC gives you the unmultiplied memory Value. Not the multiplied one.
