I believe that CCC 9.6 has once again broken PowerPlay, but I would like to see if anyone else has experienced it. I put in CCC 9.6, and things looked okay. I put in my second HD 4870x2, and things looked okay. I opened CoD4, and when I shut it, my GPU temps were remaining high. A look into GPU-Z showed that Core0 downclocked, but Cores1-3 stayed running at 750 MHz.
Has anyone else experienced this? I had this problem with CCC 9.4 and older with one card (one would always stay in 3D mode) but it worked properly in 9.5 with one card. I did not try two cards in 9.5 yet. If anyone else has this problem with 9.6, please let me know, and I will roll back.

This hit my buddy in 9.6 as well.
His HD4870 Xfire setup does the same as yours. (GPO 0 in 2D GPU1 in 3D clocks) I just did a roll back to 9.5 and all was well, I'd try it yourself.

My performance seems much better with 9.6, overclocks are more stable (no more occasional crash mid-benchmark). I also upgraded my Win7 though, so it might not just be the drivers.

I seem to have discovered the problem; it got stuck after I tried using 32xAA. Restarting the PC fixed it.
