Ati OC Tools 4890
Got a XFX 4890 xxx a lil while ago and i wanna oc it since they do oc nicely,
can sum1 tell me what tools (apps) i should use? Dont wanna fry my card either it gotta last. All the threads telling people what tools youre supposed to use are old as hell so i dont know how accurate they are. i know how to oc cpus and ram bla bla but a gfx card will be a first for me

Use ATi overdrive which is inside the catalyst control center.

yeah i saw that but isnt just moving the slider a bit dumb? and not good for ur card? overvolting etc

I use rivatuner and it works nicely. You can create profiles and triggers so it can automatically adjust the speeds; so if load is <10% you can have it underclock and lower the fan speed, and when the load increases you can have the card overclock and the fan speed increase, etc.
Also don't bump after 2 minutes

CCC and ATiTool errors
CCC got atikmdag error, I checked some recommended solution which is
__________________uninstall KB952287 windows update but still can't work, and I need CCC's overdrive to overclock my HD4890 PCIE card. Ati tool won't detect my graphic card Is there any other way to solve this issue?? My Specs : AM2+ AthlonX2 7850 2.8GHz BE MSI DKA790GX Platinum(MS7550) MB Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR2 1066MHz Ram C/Master 180W V8 CPU Cooling WD RE3 ES 500GB HDD Sapphire HD4890 Vapor-X 1GDDR5 256bit PCIEX16(OC : 990MHz Core, 1195MHz Memory via CCC's overdrive, Fan Spd 100%) Win Vista Ultimate X86 I always get that atikmdag error while half way through my W3X Bnet Game, please help. If got any other OC tools to help OC my Graphic card, please tell me, ATI Tools and Riva Tuner just won't work.

acually, you can read the description on this DKA790GX Board at MSI website, it shows there, that max support ram is 1066MHz DDR2 and only AM2+ processor can run it.....
