I've recently been getting driver crashes on 9.7 drivers.
Though, this hasn't really been an issue for me, I'm not sure if my HD2600 is finally going out, but I've gotten BSODs regarding this and not my overclock when running F@H, along with F@H Core 11 stops. So do you think it's bad drivers, or a defective card? If it's drivers, what's the best method for driver removal? (Just checkin since I haven't done it in awhile.) Side Note: This will be my first ATi driver related issue if it is.

It could be either really, if it happened right when you updated drivers then i'd suspect drivers.
Download and run driver sweeper http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

I was having some driver issues and the method that most people recommended was this:
1. Uninstall driver directly from Device Manager 2. Restart, boot into safe mode and run Driver Sweeper/Driver Cleaner. 3. Boot into windows and install new drivers. Driver Sweeper: http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ Good luck.

If you've been running Cat 9.7 for a while with no issues, I'd be wondering if the card is giving up.
I guess removing drivers and reinstalling might be worth trying. Possibly with Cat 9.8. Installed anything recently that might have interfered with the ATi drivers?

Besides Windows updates, no new installs.
And I got these 9.7's the day I reinstalled Vista. I'm trying to debate, I still have warranty with HIS I think...so I might send it back to them and get back something decent...

Worth a shot.
If drivers were the problem, it would have manifested straight away. And while I have experienced Windows Updates breaking drivers... it's usually blatantly obvious as soon as Windows restarts, so it's not likely that.

Usually I'm fine unless I'm GPU2 folding. Games present no error yet though..

Checked what the Windows Update did, and whether MS have any detailed info about it on the relevant page?

Good luck.
I guess a Defender update could have done something to the drivers, if it thought a file was infected or spyware or something...
