get the new patch for it that allows for DX10 you cant change the AA but it looks amazing and my FPS went up 30 now its like 50 to 80

The SP2 for FSX which "enables" dx10 game play actually makes it suck, the runways at night always flash and it's all grainy.

To answer ops problem: The graphics aren't that amazing for terrain to start with. Look for UT Canada and UT USA and UT UK.
If the Frame rate sucks, lower the graphics.
Tips to increase framerate with out getting complicated:
* Turn off lens flare, it's unneeded and useless
* Turn off DX10 Preview
* Lower the graphics
