Default FSX looks like crap on my PC with maxed settings?

So i recently got FSX and set the graphical settings to max; however when i actually play the game, the graphics don't look very good at all. The terrain isn't detailed, etc. FPS seems to be doing well tho. Game hasn't been choppy, if at all.

Obviously i'm using my sig rig. Anybody got any clue what's goin on?

Actually, if you check some early benchmarks on the 4800 series, you can see that ATI is severely lagging behind the GT200 competitors in a similar way to F@H. The game simply requires more power, and the 4800 series doesn't have it. So, ATI took several shortcuts on LOD with their new drivers so they could catch up, and what you see are the results.

Are you sure the drivers aren't stopping all the textures and AA from being enabled and you have installed all the patches ect.?

That's a good question. Would i go to MSI's or ATI's website to find the most up to date drivers for my card?

I guess you could try here.
http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloadindex
MSi is known to have unique BIOS, I know that much.

well i updated the drivers to 9.8 and that seemed to help a little, but it still doesn't look all that great.

EDIT: After watching some Youtube videos of people playing on UltraHigh, maybe i'm expecting too much lol. Earlier i was comparing my graphics with the FSX official screenshots. I guess they could be doctored to look way more detailed than the game really is. Idk.
