Exclamation arkham asylum demo makes games crash
I have an XFX HD 4580 1GB. (Everything in my Sig Rig)

I installed the Batman Demo from Steam. It came packaged with some steam Physix stuff, which we all know, ATI doesn't support.

Batman crashed after about 3 minutes in.... and now.. my COD4 and CSS both crash after about a half hour.

The card overheats, and resets the fan speed for some reason.

I removed the Nvidia Physix stuff throu add/remove programs (XP Pro x64) but the problem still exists in my gaming.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

you have tried clearing your ati drivers and reinstalling them as well?

Does it only crash after running BatmanAA first? Like if you boot up and play CSS or COD4 before ever running BatmanAA is everything ok?

No. I completely removed the Batman Demo now, and it still does it in all my games. Its rather frustrating.

Is the heatsink dusty? Try cleaning it, they can get absolutely caked with dust if its been a while.

Try running driver sweeper for the physx software.
