Default I want to upgrade my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 video card

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300D-14U, with 2 AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70 (don't know if it's relevant, i'm not that tech), Windows Vista, and a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 that uses 256 MB.
I lately bought Need For Speed Shift (tm), but found out that something isn't good enough on my laptop (don't even know if it is my videocard that is insufficiant, but I think so)
So I don't have money to buy a new videocard, (don't even know how to install it) but I got some advise to "give more memory to my videocard." How do I do that?

Almost willing to bet, your GPU is integrated into your motherboard. I believe the only notebooks that can have the GPU upgraded is the Dell XPS line as well as the Alienware higher up line.

im 100% positive that you WILL NOT be able to upgrade the gpu in your laptop. Sorry to say it bud, but you need a better machine to play shift. Its just going to lag on your laptop.

hope that helps

Giving more memory to your videocard would mean sharing your some of your system RAM with your videocard, so the videocard would show up with more mb's, and your system ram with less.. I doubt it's very effective.

If you want to do some proper gaming, either get a good desktop machine (for the love of god build it yourself then and don't go with some crappy pre-built scrapheap ), or simply buy a console.
I wouldn't do all that just for NFS shift though, it seems to be a kind of crappy game..
