New to Overclock.net

This device cannot start. (Code 10)
I keep getting this error code for my graphics card i have reinstalled Vista 64 about 3 times, cleand the registry removed hardware and reinstalled it but i just can`t fix this problem. Could my motherboard be faulty ? I also have 2 graphics cards a 4870x2 and a 4870 and i get the error on both cards....

sounds to me like a bad mobo. do you have another rig you could try the cards in?
edit: having an off-day. gonna stop giving advice for now lol

how are you getting the error if your video card cant start?
__________________Have you tried different drivers, cause that is prety comon when u use the wrong drivers, your not installing from the cd are you?

Update your drivers and clean out any other remaining drivers......
more then positive its a driver issue.

I have formatted the drives done a clean install of vista put all the latest asus drivers on for the chipset sata etc...then tried to installed the latest ati drivers 9.9 and i still get the error code in device manager and on my desktop it says no ati drivers are installed or the ati driver is not functioning properly please install the ati driver appropriate for your ati hardware..

did you use the original driver file you had? if so, download a new copy of it. I've gotten similar issues with corrupted driver installs when i first installed win7 rtm
