Default driver issues with vista64 and steam.

ok so i dont know what i am doing wrong guys maybe you all can help me out.
fired up steam. clicked on left 4 dead and i was greeted with this.



ok so i'm cool new drivers. download em. uninstall all my ati stuff. reboot in safe mode ran driver sweeper. reboot normally installed new driver pack.
checked catalyst and device manager and verified my new driver version.
fired up steam and again the same screen. did the same procedure unstalled ati drivers and catalyt and install manager. reboot into safe mode. ran driversweeper... blah blah blah.. i got the same screen again..

am i doin something wrong or am i going crazy?

Just hit continue anyways....Ive had the message many times but always ignore it. Never had any problems doing so.

i get the same thing in l4d in vista64 with 4850.

Don't worry i had the same problem. I guarantee you i am more ocd about these things than you are. I use to reinstall windows every time something like this occurred. I have recently left my old ways. (It just took up way too much of my time). Just make sure you have the latest drivers from ati website and click don't warn me again. Check your windows updates before installing them. Aparently windows updates found an older version of ati drivers and decided to install them for me. I had to go back in and reinstall the new updates. Everything works great now. By the way i'm running a xfx4850 and windows 7.
