Default 5850 Driver Issue! Need HELP

I just finished my first build. everything went smoothly. INstallded windows 7, and installed the driver off the CD from my 5850 thinking itll go ok. Turns out the CD drivers arent even 58x0 series drivers, and i couldnt get into CCC, now i downloaded off AMD's site the correct drivers, and when i log into windows, after the boot logo, i get MAJOR artifacting. Question is how do i fix it, and how do i get it normal.

EDIT: Please take time to read this update.

It seems that i simplified the problem. I reinstalled windows to a clean install, Then i went on AMD's website and got the win 7 beta drivers (being that they are the only win 7 drivers, i am running win 7 ultimate) I installed them once i rebooted, the screen was all mis colored as if all 1 artifact. I am running in safe mode right now. I am about to do a driver sweep to ensure no drivers are left. What do you recommend? It seems as if windows automatically installs the video card, and its usually after that that the artifacts come back. (i uninstall the vid card in device manager so that i can see the screen.)

EDIT 3 (Most Recent) : I was going through the computer trying to find the problem after i did a driver sweep. I found a folder named AMD in my hard drive by going through my computer. Question is should it be there? and if not then will deleting it solve my problem?

I recommend using Driver Sweeper.

Here's the correct way to use Driver Sweeper:
  1. Install it.
  2. Use the ATi driver's uninstaller in Programs and Features (or Add or Remove Programs in XP).
  3. Reboot into Safe Mode (hold F8 until it gives you the menu).
  4. Once in Safe Mode, open Driver Sweeper.
  5. Select "ATI - Display".
  6. Click "Clean".
  7. If any errors occur, then repeat the process once more.
  8. Close Driver Sweeper and then reboot normally.
  9. Once finished booting, install the driver you prefer.
If this doesn't fix it, then we'll keep working at it until it's solved.

i tried it and it wasnt working, got to a point where the CCC wasn't even uninstalling. I noticed that after windows automatically installed the device driver hardware on the bottom left corner, after that it would artifact. The only way to make the screen so i can read whats on it is to uninstall the display adapter (HD5850). I decided to reinstall windows and see how that works out. Which driver should i use when i reinstall windows? (CD or the one of the internet)

Of course download Catalyst from the internet, it will be much more recent than anything on the CD.

So if I am understanding correctly, you first tried to uninstall it with its own uninstaller, but it basically wouldn't work. So then you used Device Manager to do it, and it uninstalled the driver. But did you use Safe Mode?

And as for which driver: well, the driver you downloaded because according to what you said, the driver on the CD isn't the correct one.

I just booted in safe mode and ran driver cleaner again to hopefully fix something. I now have no drivers installed, except the one that pops up in the corner saying Windows is installing device driver software. WHICH MEANS, the card shows up in device manager, however it has a yellow sign with an exclamation point next to it. It also says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" I am going to try and get some screen shots up. also, the resolution is not at 1920 x 1080, but at the highest windows setting which is 1400 x 1050

Edit: ooops! sorry for the Double post, i am really frustrated right now.

EDIT II: Here is said picture.
