mabey a 4670 is overkill on a pentium 4 and thats why its slow....
you guys thing so? cuz ever since i put this card in... the startup of windows has an extremely slower start up time...
You will see the difference

sweet...

so should i wait for new parts before overclocking? cuz im gunna get an SB750 Motherboard and attempt to unlock a core as well... so a chance at a quad core 720...also 4GB OCZ obsidian series.... low timings, but im on a budget, and overclock the timings anyways....getting new keyboard and new mouse as well

The biggest thing you need to look for is if your fan is operating at the optimal cooling speed. I'm running the 4770 at 875/935 and my fan is at 100%. Believe me when I say that venting heat is the biggest issue with OCing.

It may be your temp, it may be the card. The biggest issue I had was the Temp. Try to keep it around 35 degrees C when it's idle and when you test for stability, keep it under 50 Degrees C. You don't want more than a 12-13C increase. I've got mine nice and peachy at 46-47C. Use GPUtool and test it there.

Also looking at what you had, it may just be that you don't have enough power coming to the card. I'm new to most of this but it's always been in my favor to look at every possible problem associated with the issue.

The only thing that will make a card overclock more is adding voltage or getting the temps down. Unlike CPUs, GPUs can go so far and not much you can do. Also different driver version might help with 5Mhz-15Mhz.

i have latest drivers... and as for cooling... i have artic cooling accelero L2 cooler... at 800 mhz/1050mhz it can hit a low 70 degrees on a furmark test. on stock clocks its like 33 degrees idle and 45 degrees on furmark.
