Default ATI 9200 Overclock

Hey, my little brother has gotten a pc for christmas and its got an ATI 9200 in it. I was wondering what the best setting for it were for an overlclock. Ive already got ati tool and the omega drivers installed etc.

He wants more performance from it with out jepordising the card too much.
Any suggestions?

If you do plan to oc it I would just bump the core by 3-10mhz then run 3dmark03 and look for artifacts if nore are present then reapeat, and do the same with the memory. When you do see artifacts wheather they came from oc'ing the memory or core too high just back off by 3mhz or 5mhz and there you go. As long as it dosen't artifact under load it shoulden't be in any danger.

My friend has a 9200SE and we rigged a fan to the passive heatsink and got 300/250. The core probably would've gone higher if the heatsink was more than a 1X1 inch square of aluminum.

I got mine to 288/228 stable. If I try to get it above 290 on the core, it begins to show artifacts. This is with a 60mm fan from an old Coolermaster Heat sink

The best I could get with no fan is about 280. I used the ATI tool and Catalyst v5.13

this one has only got stock cooling and the air circulation its terrible, the cable tidying looks like its been done by a four year old :P

My bro's noticed a difference in his gameplay - he only plays on stuff like Star Trek Bridge Commander & Star Trek Armada - not too stressful, but he can now play them at 1600x1200 on maximum detail and it seems to be running as smooth as a babys bottom
