Mines been chugging along fine on my Hiper 580w with just 2x6pin pci/e power plugs a while now (6 weeks? or so). We just added Halo 2 to our library (I know its old, but never had an Xbox) and it plays great; settings maxxed on a 21" LCD 1680/1050 its native res. I don't really bench much but all the demos for recent games have been playing great, except LostPlanet but I know that its software related as others have had same issues on Nvidia cards. Its not perfect but I am happy and at least can CF it later when I can afford it and a better PSU. I am going to get Supreme Commander soon and see how that one goes. Its supposed to push even high end rigs but with my setup I think I should be able to get atleast medium settings at upper resolutions. I always update drivers as released and use DCpro when uninstalling all the old stuff. You can always get an 8800 if you can return it, nothing wrong with those.
Edit: I dual boot with XP pro sp2 andd Vista 32 bit Ultimate, both OS's have had zero issues with this card for me atleast.
