Anandtech reports that the next generation of GPUs will range in power consumption from 130W to 300W. This increase in power consumption will make for higher-wattage Power Supply Units (to the 1 kW-1.2 kW range) and/or the addition of internal, secondary PSUs solely for powering the GPUs.
Interesting kilowatt psu's... Sound's juicy. Yet expensive.

There are allready kilowatt PSU's out there and yes, they are juicy, and yes, they are expenisve. The only one I know of at present is also REALLY loud and REALLY big, I have seen PSU"s for tower cases that are a third the size. This spells doom for p180 owners unless you mod your case.

In my opinion though if you plan to only run a single video card rig then you are probably okay with a normal sized 500w-600w PSU unless you have a ton of other stuff in your case.

I think that in terms of PSUs, the separate system/gpu psu is a good idea. The reason for this, is that the higher rating a psu has, the price increases expontentially. For example, a 1kW psu is not twice the price of a 500W psu. This is because higher quality wires and components are required to facilitate that much current. Also, I have a hunch that the efficiency of two different psus will be better than the single large psu.

Having said that, do people think that the 560W Silverstone in my sig will be able to handle a 8800GTS on top of my current system?

Yea, I'm aware PC Power & Cooling have a 1KW psu for around 500-600 but I was just seeing how he put 1.2KW, which is kind of interesting how the requirements go up for graphics power and go away for CPU power.

Seems as if graphics are trying to take over CPU power especially in vista.

Here's a dumb, yet decent question:

I've seen the FAQ for the dual PSU, I've seen the booster, but what's a good site for a case that supports dual PSUs?
