Default stock clock speeds on x1900xt???

I just got this card on thursday from
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102051

and here are the settings stock in the control center (see attached)
Is there something i am missing, the stock clock speeds should be much higher according to Neweggs web page.

core=621
mem=1440
am i just completely missing something or did i get ripped off?

looking at your pic it shows that your OCing lock is unlocked... did you try clicking the default and see if it changes the speed? maybe you unlocked the Overdrive and changed the settings and forgot?

Either way... you should be able to just turn up your speeds to what newegg says should run fine on those speeds. i have same card and have been messing around with ATT (ati tray tools or somthing) and i have my speeds at 688/1648 i raised my volts up a little and turned up my cards fan to keep down temps

i use ATI tray tools (im not sure what the current version is)

It has all the options that ati control panel has but a lot more also

you can change your cards speeds, benchmark, check for artifacts, change fan speeds, change voltages, change all your basic and advanced visual settings.

I just started using it a couple days ago and i like it alot so far compared to the other OCing programs out there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
anyways about your topic i wouldnt worry about the stock speeds, it should be able to do those easily , you should be able to OC your XT to the XTX speeds or maybe even a little faster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just noticed you have the same processor as mine, if you havent already i would look into OC your processor also, the 3700 sandy is a very good Overclocker even on stock Air.

stock is 2.2ghz and im running mine at 2.5 right now but some ppl can get theres up to 3.0 ghz on air.

Those are the 3d mode clock speeds for an x1900xt, if newegg showed any different than 625/725 for x1900xt it must have been a misprint.

I am talking with newegg and they say that the speeds posted are what were given by Sapphire. I am going to talk to Sapphire on Monday to confirm that the speeds are correct or not. even if the 2d or 3d speeds are actual and requested, as seen in my pic in my previous post, they are not even close to what ati and newegg are posting. The 3d core speed seem ok if requested is the 3d speed @621MHz, but the mem at 3d speed is @720MHz, thats half of the listed amount stock.

Wow this is going a bit far...

Your card is perfectly fine. The stock 2d speeds are 500/594 and they will stay at that speed until you launch a 3D application. Once you do the clock will rise up to the "requested" clocks you see in ati overdrive. In your case this will be 621/720. The memory clock on newegg is the effective memory clock which is double of what you see in ati overdrive. So 720mhz memory in ati overdrive is 1440 on newegg. This does not apply to core clock though, 621 is still 621, which you are at anyway. Raise the clocks a bit if you see that you need to. That's about it.

Its that simple? I also just noticed that when i was in ATI Tray Tools hardware overclock and click "show as ddr" the mem goes to 1188. I guess i was just being paranoid because when i was running fear the game was jumpy. thaught it was strange for this type of card....must be the settings. thanks for pointing that out Frozenshinobi. I didn't realize that they list mem settings in that way.

you have the same set up as me almost just a gig of ram less, im not sure how good your ram is but if you upgrade that to 2gigs of decent speed ram you should see a big change in performance cuz i just did exactly that not to long ago.

you should be able to max out most of the fear settings, i would turn off soft shadows and the one lighting effect cuz you dont really notice them.

try running your CPU settings at average and your video card settings at close to max. that way your CPU/RAM will be able to help your video card as much as possible and you wont notice much of a diffference in game.
