I haven't done it yet, but I know that other people have. Here is the link to the patched file. Just install the latest ATI Tool (0.26), then delete the executable and unzip this patched .exe in the ATI Tool folder.
http://rapidshare.com/files/7876011/...tched.rar.html Just go through the retarded download process and follow the above directions. Here is a screen of my timings menu at default....don't have time to mess with this until I get off work at 12:30 in da morning......BLAH! [IMG] [/IMG]

Hmm, I wonder what kind of memory chips are on the Sapphire X1950 Pro Ultimate Edition, it comes factory clocked at 800mhz. I plan on using this tool if I know a little more about the actual chips on the card and so on.

The Sapphire's memory chips are the BC12 1.2 ns chips here:
http://www.samsung.com/Products/Semi...K4J55323QG.htm They have the best memory out of the bunch, not really sure why mine doesn't have those, but they seem to run ok over spec....I have mine OCed at 750 MHz, 10 MHz over stock, 50 MHz over max spec rating according to the above link.

I see. And what would those 1.2ns chips be able to get to?

Ah man you got me.....I know that the 1.2 ns makes them respond faster, but if you are referring to clocks, you will probably reach your voltage limit before your temperature, as the Ultimate has some good cooling. I have reached my voltage limit at on my core, and I will try to push the memory further after work. Try searching around forums and see if anyone has this card, and if they have tried to OC the memory yet.....I know one guy that you should talk to here:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=204213&page=3 This is the thread that we have been conversing on, and posting 3dmark scores and whatnot. He has a watercooled regular Sapphire model, and has achieved some nice clocks. Post on this thread, and join the forum if you haven't already. Also, check out Xtremesystems forum here, great thread going on our cards, and the guy that wrote that patched file is here, from Ukraine! http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...08#post1906308 PM me or post on this thread if you find anything or have ?s, good luck....if you know of any memory timings guides, or in depth literature let me know, as I have only seen timings guides for system RAM, not video. Peace out

I just got off work, so I'm going to grab a bite to eat, then I'm gonna give it a try as well. Let me know how it goes
![]() Well, I tried the timings that one guy gave me, but he has a different card....didn't work, so I'm going to play around with the timings later on today. I have my memory OC up to 823 MHz, and it is VERY stable. I bet I could at least go another 27MHz (you have to use this interval to prevent lockups on my particular memory)

If your memory has a CK cycle time max of 3.3nS (based on the spec sheet) that’s 1/3.3nS = A theoretical max frequency of 303.03MHz and if you have memory that can do the min 1.25nS that’s 1/1.25nS = 800MHz. So based on the spec sheet this memory can go from 303.03MHz to 800MHz anything over that is gravy. This all depends on the chips used on your card. In all of my time as an electrical engineer chips produced tend to be close to the min values and rarely deviate to the max values when talking about response times (the lower the response time the better), that’s what Q.C. testing is for. cant wait to OC my new X1950 now

I have the visiontek board. It came with the not only the front hsf thing, but also a copper plate covering the back, the board is sandwitched between them, pretty heavy.
__________________I installed the latest atitool .26, and copied the patch file over, renamed it, ran it. When I clicked on Find Max Core, I just got a black screen. So I reset my computer, and ran ati tool again. When it loaded it said it had crashed, and told me 614 was the max core setting it got. (575 default). My question is, does it not display anything when it does the "find max core" setting? Or should I just do it manually?

Look at my little guide here for OCing the memory, as our cards are VERY picky for the memory OCing: http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers...irections.html I have my core OCed using ATI Tray Tools and I OCed the memory using these directions with Rivatuner. I keep ATI Tray tools open while entering the memory OC in Rivatuner, then save the new OC in a profile in ATI Tray Tools. This has worked out totally fine for me. Make sure to follow all of the directions exactly because you will get a black screen or crash if you don't
