FAQS:
How do I get 3Dmark to work with the HD 2900XT?
Go to the c:\windows\system32\futuremark\msc directory and rename or delete the file "direcpll.dll" if you install another 3Dmark like 03 or 05 you will have to do this again.

When can I get Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half Life Episode 2?
October 9th is the official word.

Where can I find out more about the HD 2900XT?

I love the card, it runs my games quite smooth. I have had some issues with the absolute latest driver release. it causes my card to not be able to display 1440x900. But if i just keep the base 7.5 driver everything is fine. All in all a great card!

EDIT

also has great vista x64 support!

Stay on topic please. No posts discussing it's performance compared to other cards; no bashing, hashing, flashing, smashing, or otherwise -ashing the HD2900XT (ok, BIOS flashing is allowed); no flaming.

Did your card come with an adapter for the 8-pin connector?

I believe the only one that comes with the connector is MSI's version.

What other version was there at the time?

Has the new drivers increased performance of the HD2900XT dramatically? Last time I read, the card was utter garbage.

Hey check it out, boss ^ Straight from Chozart. Start a new thread if you want to bash the HD2900XT, it would certainly be an original thing to do that everyone would want to hear.

I've finally sold my GTS 320mb and I'm deciding between a 640mb or a HD2900XT. I can afford either, so that doesn't matter. The info I'm looking for is:

I hear tell this card needs some serious power. Can anyone tell me if my power supply will run it fine? Also, I don't have the sort of crazy connectors it is asking for, is there anything to do for that?
