If you've got a new motherboard with a SATA hard drive, you might have a really tough time. I just avoid linux. I want to like it but there are to many problems.

Sort of given up, formatted the partition then reinstalled.
Downloaded and installed the updates.
Restart... mode not supported then it flickers black to grey

Nothing loads after that

I guess I can add my OC update here.....950 on core with 1.35V using the Quantum Force BIOS editor and ATI Flash.....

You can mod the Vcore through the BIOS? How risky is it?
When you flash the BIOS do you have to do each card seperately or can you do atiflash.exe -f -p 0 or 1 biosfile.bin?

I am going to have the exact same cooling on my 2900pro shortly, I can't wait. Curious, is that OC stable on atitool artifact scanning?

This card is a bit too weak compared to 8800GT and pricey, the production have been terminated a long time ago. Yeah the new thing to brag about is probably HD 4870 X2 which is a lot more powerful than HD 2900XT.
This card is going to be my antique soon because I can't sell this card, btw it did pretty well with the OC with the Artic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 2900.

I wouldn't call this card weak by any stretch of the imagination. My setup tears it up in any game out there.

Same here, there's plenty of life left in these cards. I know I won't be replacing them until I can get 2 X times the performance of them in a single card......4870X2...probably, but will more than likely hold out until the 5870 rolls along.

For all the stick these cards got on release, I haven't had any problems with single card or crossfire from Cat 7.10 > present.

But there's a slot reserved in my htpc for a 4850

Wow there are still HD 2900XT users out there I thought they all sold out their card and have HD 3870 X2 by now.
