There is still life left on my card too. It's a good card but you can't give away this cards. It was a bad idea in ATI part that you need to have to use 215w to run this cards.

For what I paid for this card I could of gotten a 3870 x2. I learned my leason. I'll wait till someone else buy something more updated then I'll decide what to buy.

I don't really have a complaint about the power consumption. I mean really, look around at the psu's we're wasting, um, er...I mean using.

I don't think I made a bad choice, although I looooved my 1950xtx, I definitely "needed" (wanted really) something a bit more agressive and the 3870 x2 was a long way away.

Now, the decision is 4870x2 or wait a generation. My problem is that I really can't justify the upgrade right now, these cards chew up anything I throw at them.

Learned your lesson? More like we, because this is actually first generation of DX10 product from ATI.
Yeah this card is too good to give away unless you have money and maybe giving it a GF might solved the problem.
For the current moment I think us HD 2900XT should wait till HD 5870 X2 or something, probably by that time te HD 2900XT power will get wasted by that card.

HD 4XXX are kinda brutal to Nvidia.
Anyway I played GRID with this card on max with 1680x1050 res and it lags on stock but WUT? When I OCed the card the game is very playable, yeah I think I will only retire my HD 2900XT OCed when it cannot handle my favorite racing games or some new ones.

BTW the OCed clock was 850/900 making it playable.

I believe this card is going to the HTPC when the 4870x2 comes out. Its served me well though.

If you think the stock fans on the HD 2900XT is a little loud you can always count on Artic Cooling Accelero Xtreme to make it a HTPC.
My HD 2900XT is pretty silent with that cooler during OC.

Dual 2900's are quite a bit better then the 4870, and are cheaper now.
