Is it worth reseating my 2900?
Easily done?

I have the feeling if i open it up, little parts will fall out and won't know where they originally were lol

Uh I don't actually know though but I'm still using my HD 2900XT for until the life span of three years. My card is turning more than 1 year now. Actually I have upgraded my cooler to A.C. Accelero Xtreme and the part didn't fell out.

Actualy not realy. The MSI version, which i had, came with something that looked similar to a
4pin to 8pin cable, that soemhow did not fit!

I had to cut it's edges for it to fit in my HD2900XT 8pin socket..
So fucin weird...

What i mean that it should come with a strandart 6pin to 8pin, but i guess my RX2900XT was "specialy" messed up LOL

This thread is so old mate. I can't believe some people even post it here. My GFX is a bit old and I might have to ditch my HD 2900XT soon. Still I can play GTA IV with my current setup and not a bad frame rate too with optimize performance compared to those who are complaining about 15-20FPS in GTA IV with a better GFX and CPU than me.

Still I think this card did good for me for 2 yrs and I'm gonna upgrade my GFX in mid yr for a better replacement. Thank you HD 2900XT you did great for even tough times like GTA IV in Vista Business too :O.
Can't wait for 40nm GPUs lol its a real upgrade from 80nm GPU tbh.

Woo, this card sure is great I'm running Farcry 2 Maxed with 4aa and the new drivers with fps hardly below 30 I see no reason to upgrade for a long time.

Um, btw sorry to say to the above... but when you cut your '4 to 8 pin connector' that wasn't even for your graphics card, it's for powering an 8 pin motherboard... the connections are reversed *facepalm*

Why is it in his sig still? And hey I still want to talk about the card, you want me to make new threads? Not everyone moves at the same pace with their hardware so this card is still kinda 'new' to some
