Thanks man and no you are deffinetly not wasting your time!

I am reading everything.

Ok. You gave me some hope here. I will try it what you wrote so far.

Right now I only have rivatuner installed with ccc. Overclocking with riva.

When you say flash the bios do you mean what i did by flashing to XT?

If not could you please give me a link to a guide?

Well actually yes, that's what I meant. By flashing to an XT you increased the clocks to 743 MHz. As far as flashing it higher than that you'll either have to find a BIOS editor (RaBiT doesn't support our cards) or manually edit the hexadecimal.....which I have no idea how to do. I think you'll have to make do with 743 until the next Catalyst arrives with Crossfire Overdrive. It's not far away, so I wouldn't give up just yet.
Here is a flash guide link:

Do you have Battlefield 2142? This game supposedly had a great increase in Crossfire performance with Catalyst 7.10. I had quite a large increase with single card too....

Well I think that the Catalyst 7.10 supports Crossfire Overdrive.....
http://www.vr-zone.com/articles/ATi_...Soon/5195.html
Get two of these:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=21721
and you can OC in Overdrive. I have one from here with custom blue mesh sleeving. Works like a charm.

BTW Rivatuner works for me in Vista x64, but it doesn't support Crossfire. I may get a 2900 Pro 1Gb and flash it for Crossfire, but that will be after a quad core, if ever.

"ATI cards are like buses...
They're huge, red and have bad drivers."

I've found that a windows reinstall sometimes helps. I've had times where I do everything exactly the same, and it doesn't work...

I have already flashed both cards to xt.

Heres whats happening now. Nothing.

I get 60 fps max graphics for TF2 no matter what I do. CF,single card, Overclock to 810, underclock to 743 its always 60fps.

Somethings wrong here.

At this point I'm going to have to suggest this: Remove all your overclocks, then uninstall all the 3rd party programs, such as rivatuner and ATi Tool. Now clean your drivers and reinstall, then try the crossfire.

I think you are trying to take too many steps at once with doing overclocks and crossfire at the same time. Get crossfire working first, then you can figure out the best way to overclock your cards while keeping them in CF.

Dude if you're topping out at 60 FPS always, then I'd check to make sure that you didn't enable Vertical Sync in the video options.....that's the refresh rate of your monitor most likely.

Oh yes one thing about the source games, try changing your desktop resolution before playing. Mine will vsync always when my desktop is same resolution as the game, never figured out why.

Ok that was the problem with the fps topping off around 60. If i could give you more rep I would lol.

But I still get the same fps with CF and single card mode. Is that normal?

I tested this by going to the same spot on a map and looking at the same point. THe fps are the same in cf as they are in single. I made sure that CF is enabled. Any ideas about this one?

EDIT: Uninstalled all the drivers and third party. Reinstalled drivers. There is deffinetly a difference in fps now between CF and single. Measuring in an empty server, same server I see a 90fps vs 60 fps difference looking at exact same spot. Looks like the crossfire is working. Testing in TF2.

HOWEVER.. NEW PROBLEMS... Whenever my player dies I see a bunch of 1 inch vertical lines rolling up the screen. MOREOVER now I see random lines and distortions when looking at specific areas.
There is no overclock, only the XT flash. Any ideas??? At least progress is being made!
